“GO MARITIME” EVENT – MERCHANT MARINE ACADEMY OF MACEDONIA

VANOS S.A. is proud to once again be part of the “Go Maritime” Event, organised by Isalos.net at the Merchant Marine Academy of Macedonia, on January 17, 2025.

Our Commercial Director, Mr Georgios Zormpalas and our Business Development Manager, Mr Theofilos Kourounis, participated in the event, connecting with students, cultivating relationships and exploring potential developments within the maritime sector.

A comprehensive workshop focusing on the critical topic “Fall Protection – Suitable Equipment for Complete Protection” was held by VANOS S.A., setting new industry standards for safety and security in the maritime sector.

VANOS S.A. attended the official launch of the Innovation Accelerator@Demokritos

On January 16th, VANOS had the privilege of attending the official launch of the Innovation Accelerator@Demokritos, the first Greek Dual-Use Technologies Accelerator. Organized by the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos” and supported by HCDI as well as NATO DIANA, this event marked a significant milestone in advancing Greece’s technological and defense sectors.

The event featured a series of informative presentations by experts in defense, research and innovation, who shared their knowledge on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities. Discussions highlighted the critical importance of collaboration between public and private sectors in driving technological advancements that can both enhance national security and foster global competitiveness.

At the heart of this new initiative are groundbreaking research projects that focus on advancing innovations with tangible applications in both defense and civilian sectors. By aligning research efforts with the needs of both industries, these projects promise to enhance Europe’s and Greece’s strategic position and global competitiveness.

We’re proud to be part of this exciting new chapter in Greece’s technological journey and are eager to continue engaging with key players to drive forward these ambitious goals.

VANOS S.A. at French – Hellenic DEFENCE INNOVATION SYMPOSIUM 2024

The VANOS team participated at the French-Hellenic DEFENCE INNOVATION SYMPOSIUM held in Athens on 12-13th December 2024. This promising initiative provided a unique opportunity to explore the future of defense collaboration between France and Greece, as well as the impactful European Defense Fund (EDF) programs shaping the landscape of defense innovation.

The symposium featured insightful discussions, focusing on the strategic role of EDF programs, the future of Franco-Hellenic defense cooperation and the shared goals of fostering technological advancements and global security. It was also an excellent opportunity for B2B meetings, where key industry leaders, military personnel, research organizations and innovators gathered to explore new partnerships and collaborative opportunities, further strengthening the defense sector.

VANOS S.A. at TeamUP Project’s 2nd Plenary Meeting & Co-Creation Workshop

From November 27th to 29th, the TeamUP consortium held its second plenary meeting and co-creation workshop at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Police (ENSP) in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or, a suburb of Lyon. The event gathered representatives of all 23 consortium members to review the project’s progress.

The meeting commenced with a comprehensive project status update, including presentations on work packages focused on communication, technology evaluation, and the integration, testing, and field validation of the project’s tools. VANOS S.A. as technology provider, presented its technology aiming to enhance the decontamination response in CBRNE incidents.

On the second day, Fraunhofer facilitated the second Co-creation Workshop, during which partners presented 21 technologies integral to the TeamUP project. These technologies address the areas of (1) detection, identification, and monitoring, (2) search and rescue, (3) triage and decontamination, and (4) collaborative planning, response, and training. Discussions emphasized user requirements and performance criteria for each technology.

After a short workshop dedicated to innovation on the third and last day, the leaders of the work packages related to technical development detailed their respective tasks. Parallel sessions aiming to better coordinate end-user requirements and system architecture also took place in the end and clarified the next steps of the project going forward.

The plenary meeting concluded on a high note, with participants expressing gratitude to the host organization and reaffirming their commitment to advancing TeamUP with renewed energy.

VANOS S.A. hosted a pilot for the “TALON” Project

From October 1st to October 2nd, our company proudly hosted at our facilities a pilot, which was conducted for the creation of a dataset for “Pilot Use Case 4 (UC4) – Human-Robot Collaboration”, a key part of the “TALON” Project.

TALON Project’s Pilot Use Case 4 focuses on advancing Industry 5.0 (I5.0) by enhancing human-robot interaction and collaboration in real-world industrial settings.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), M4D – Multimodal Data Fusion and Analytics Group, Information Technologies Institute (ITI), for their dedication and collaboration. Aligned with our commitment to innovation and research, VANOS S.A. supported by providing access to facilities, the data collection process for UC4, aimed at ultimately optimizing AI orchestration.

We look forward to building on our partnership and making advancements that will raise the standards for safety and efficiency in industrial operations.

It has been a great pleasure to participate at the Research and Innovation Symposium for European Security and Defence (RISE-SD 2024) in Chalkidiki, Greece, on the 16th and 17th of October.

At VANOS’s dedicated booth, we showcased our company’s R&D capabilities alongside innovative European projects. We also had the opportunity to meet with esteemed partners and the R&D Community and exchange ideas on Fighting Crime and Terrorism, Disaster and Crisis Management, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Cybersecurity and Border Management Research.

Moreover, the event featured engaging panels and workshops led by experts, European Commission officers, and key representatives from top R&D projects.

10-years VANOS Employees’ Blood Bank

On October 1st, VANOS S.A. hosted its second bi-annual blood donation event at our headquarters in Piraeus.

As we mark the 10th Anniversary of our Employee Blood Bank, established in 2014, we are proud of the consistent efforts and contribution of our dedicated team.

In collaboration with Cristanini SpA, we aim to offer unparalleled expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to address issues in defense, civil protection, and specialized sectors of decontamination and CBRN detoxification. Our Defence & Public Safety Business Advisor, Mr. Konstantinos Ntetsikas, and Safety Consultant, Mr. Vasileios Papadopoulos, have successfully completed the training program at Cristanini Headquarters in Italy.

VANOS S.A., which is the sole distributor for Cristanini’s CBRN Decontamination Systems in Greece and Cyprus, visited the premises of Cristanini SpA from 30/07/2024 to 03/08/2024 and was trained in the use of the CBRN SANIJET C. 921 decontamination machine and in general the safety solutions offered.
